8. You should be back in the window below. Click on the News Servers option on the left side. If you have one, news.ispname.xxx should be listed with (default) next to it. If it does not, click the Set as Default button on the right.

If you want a news group that isn't on our server, we can have it added for you at no extra charge. Just call Technical Support toll free at 1-888-466-4638. Support is available 24-hours a day.

 

9. Highlight news.ispname.xxx, then click the Edit button on the right.
Name: news.ispname.xxx
Port #: 119
Security: Not encrypted
A dot should be next to Only login when the server requests it. Click OK.

 

10. Now expand the options under Composer on the left side. Click on Publish.
Both boxes should be check marked next to Maintain links, and Keep images with page.
Under Default publishing location:

  • Publish to (FTP or HTTP): pages.tm.net (if you are using your 10 free MB of server space). If you have web hosting through Mercury Network, it will be www.yourdomain.com/net/org.
  • Browse to (HTTP): pages.tm.net/login_name (for user webpages)

 

11. Click on the Advanced option on the left side. Check marks should be next to the following:

  • Automaticaly load images and other data types
  • Enable Java
  • Enable JavaScript
  • Enable JavaScript for Mail and News
  • Enable style sheets.

Under Cookies, it is recommended that a dot is next to Accept all cookies, but it is not necessary.

 

12. Expand the options under Advanced. Click on Cache.
Disk cache should be set at the default, most likely 7680 KBytes. Clicking the Clear Disk Cache Now button will delete any frequently visited webpages that your computer has stored on it. Doing this is usefull if a webpage you visit often has links or images that do not appear when you load the page.

 

13. Click on Proxies on the left. A dot should be next to Direct connection to the Internet. Click OK. you're done configuring your browser for the Internet.
