Configuring Your Web Browser

Netscape 6.0

1. Open Netscape 6. Click on the Edit menu at the top of the screen and select Preferences.

2. Under Category, Navigator should be highlighted and its options expanded beneath it. If not, click on the arrow to the left of Navigator and the options will drop down.
A dot should be next to Home page. Type www.ispname.xxx next to Location.

3. Click on the arrow to the left of Advanced. The following items should have an X by them:

Enable Java
Enable JavaScript for Navigator
Enable JavaScript for Mail and News

4. Click on Cache under the Advanced category. Leave the Memory Cache and Disk Cache sizes alone. If you have a frequently visited web site that has some links that do not work or images that do not load, clicking the Clear Memory Cache or Clear Disk Cache buttons will clear all webpages from your computer's memory and allow it to download a fresh version of the page.

5. Click on Proxies under the Advanced category. Only a dot next to Direct connection to the Internet should appear. Everything else should be blanked out like below. After all necessary changes have been made, click OK.
