Configuring Your E-mail Program

Reconfiguring Netscape Mail for Navigator 3.0

1. Open Navigator. When the browser window opens up, click on the Options menu at the top of the screen and select Mail and News Preferences in the menu that drops down.

2. You should come right to the Identity tab. Whatever you enter for Your Name will appear in the "From" field of all your outgoing e-mails. Enter your e-mail address next to Your Email, in the form of login_name@tm.net. Click the Appearance tab at the top.

3. Anything in this window is optional. Click the Composition tab at the top.

4. Anything in here is optional also. Click the Servers tab at the top.

5. The following information should be entered:

  • Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server: mail.ispname.xxx
  • Incoming (POP) Server: mail.ispname.xxx
  • POP user ID: login_name -- first part of your e-mail address that appears before the "@" symbol
  • News (NNTP) Server: news.ispname.xxx

Click Organization tab at the top.

6. Everything is optional in this window also. If you want Netscape to remember you password instead of retyping it each time you check for e-mail, put a check next to Remember Mail Password at the bottom of the window. After all desired changes have been made, click OK.
