Configuring Your E-mail Program

Adding a New Mail Account in Netscape 6.0 (Mac edition)

1. Open Netscape 6. Click on Tasks at the top of the window, then select Mail from the menu that drops down.

 

2. After the Mail window opens up, click on Edit at the top of the screen, then select Mail/News Account Settings from the menu that drops down.

 

3. When the Account Settings window opens up, click on the New Account button at the bottom left corner of the window.

 

4. Make sure a dot is next to ISP or email provider, click Next.

 

5. What ever you type for Your Name will appear in the From field of all the e-mails you send out. Next to Email Address, type in login_name@tm.net where you replace login_name with your Mercury Network login name. Click Next.

 

6. Next to Server Type, make sure POP Mail Server is selected in the drop-down menu. Next to Server Name, type mail.ispname.xxx. Click Next.

 

7. Type your login name in, which is the first part of your e-mail address that appears before the "@" sign. Click Next.

 

8. You may type anything you want for the Account Name. Click Next.

 

9. Click Finish.

 

10. You will come back to the Account Settings window, you should see the new Account Name on the left side. Click OK.
