Configuring Your E-mail Program

New E-mail Accounts in Netscape Mail 4.7

1. Click on your Start button, then click on Programs (A) in the menu that pops up. From there, click on yoru Netscape Communicator folder (B) and select the Utilities folder in the menu that slides out to the side. Then click on User Profile Manager (C).

2. In the Profile Manager window, click the New button on the right side.

 

3. Click Next.

 

4. All of your outgoing e-mails will be from whatever you type in the Full Name field. Then type in your Mercury Network e-mail address below that. E-mail addresses are your login name@tm.net and are also all lower-case and have no spaces. Once you have typed in the correct information, click Next.

 

5. The Profile Name can be whatever you would like. It just identifies your profile on your computer. Then Click Next.

 

6. Your Outgoing mail (SMTP) server should be mail.ispname.xxx. Click Next.

 

 

7. Your Mail server user name will be your Mercury Network login name. Type mail.ispname.xxx under Incoming Mail Server. The Mail Server type should be POP3. Click Finish if you do not want to set up a news group account. Click Next to set up a newsgroup account. If you didn't set up a newsgroup account, skip to step 9.

 

8. Under News (NNTP) server, type news.ispname.xxx. The Port number should be 119 and the box next to Secure unchecked. Then click Finish.

 

9. Netscape should start automaticaly after you click Finish, or you may need to start Navigator and select the new profile and connect to the Internet.
