Configuring Your E-mail Program

New E-Mail Account in Outlook Express 4.0

1. Open Outlook Express by double-clicking the icon on your desktop. Or click on your Start button in the lower-left corner, go to Programs and to your Internet Explorer folder and click on Outlook Express.

 

2. Click on Tools at the top, then click on Accounts.

 

3. The Internet Accounts window should pop up. Next click on the Add button on the right side, and select Mail.

 

4. All of your outgoing e-mails will be from whatever you type for a Display Name. After puting in what you would like, click Next.

 

5. Type in your Mercury Network e-mail address. It will be your login name@tm.net. E-mail addresses are lower-case and all one word. Then Click Next.

 

6. POP3 should be your incoming mail server. The Incoming and Outgoing mail server names should both be mail.ispname.xxx. Click Next.

 

7. Enter the first part of your e-mail address next to Account name and enter your e-mail password below that. Puting a check mark by Remember password will save your password so you won't have to type it in every time your check your mail. Click Next.

 

8. Some versions of Outlook Express will go right to a finish window, at which point you can click the Finish button at the bottom and close out the Internet Accounts window. For most other versions, you will come to this window.

Put a dot next to Connect using my phone line. Click Next. You may get another window that asks for a Dial-Up Networking Connection, choose Mercury Network.

 

9. You're done! Just click the Finish button and close out the Internet Accounts window. You're set to e-mail.
