Configuring Your E-mail Program

New E-mail Accounts in Outlook Express 5.0

1. Open Outlook Express by double-clicking your Outlook Express icon on your desktop or click on your Start button, then go to Programs, then to the Internet Explorer folder and select Outlook Express.

2. Cancel the dialing window if it pops up. Then click on Tools at the top Click on Accounts in the menu that pops down.

 

3. The Internet Accounts window will pop up. Then click on the Add button, and then click Mail.

 

4. All of your outgoing e-mails will be from whatever you type in the Display name space. Once you have typed in what you would like, click Next.

 

5. Make sure a dot is next to I already have an e-mail address that I'd like to use. Then type in your Mercury Network e-mail address and click Next. Your e-mail address would be your login name@tm.net. E-mail addresses are lower-case and one word.

 

6. Your incoming mail server should be a POP3 server. Incoming and outgoing mail server names will both be mail.ispname.xxx in lower-case letters. Click Next.

 

7. Next to Account name, type the first part of your e-mail address. Then type in your password. Putting a check next to Remember password will allow you to check your e-mail without entering your password every time. Then click Next.

 

8. Click Finish and the close the Internet Accounts window. You're set to e-mail.
