Configuring Your E-mail Program

Reconfiguring an E-mail Account in Outlook 97

1. Open Outlook 97. Click on the Tools menu at the top, then select Services from the drop-down menu.

 

2. Select Internet Mail and click the Properties button.

 

3. You may enter any anything under Mail Account. Anything you have entered for a Name will appear in the "From" field of all your outgoing e-mails. Beside E-mail Address, make sure your address is entered in the form login_name@SeeList, where you replace the word login_name with your login name. Click the Servers tab at the top.

 

4. Enter mail.ispname.xxx next to Outgoing Mail (SMTP) and Incoming Mail (POP3). Make sure a dot is next to Logon using. Enter your login name, which is the first part of your e-mail address that appears before the "@" sign, and enter your password beneath that. Leave the dot out of Logon using Secure Password Authentication. Click the Connection tab at the top.

 

5. Select I use a modem to access my e-mail and select ISP name under Use the following Dial-Up Networking connection. Click the Advanced tab at the top.

 

6. Everything should be set according to the window below. After all desired changes have been made, click OK.
