Macintosh Specific Settings Modem Control Panel 1. Click on your Apple menu in the top left corner of the screen. Then select Control Panels in the menu that slides out and click on Modems.
2. Next to Connect via, the modem port should be selected. Most often it will read Internal Modem, unless you have an external modem. Your correct modem brand and model should be listed next to Modem. You may have the Sound on or off if you don't want to hear your modem dial. Dialing should be set to Tone and a check mark left out of Ignore dial tone.
