Where to Put Init Strings

1. Click on the Blue telephone in the upper right corner of your screen by your clock. Then select Open FreePPP Setup.

2. Click the Modems tab at the top.

3. Select the modem configuration that you use, most likely it will be called Generic Modem. Then click the Edit button on the right.

4. At the bottom under Modem init string settings, make sure a dot is next to the Use: option. *Init strings may be entered to the right of the Use: option.

* Mercury Network will not be held responsible for any init strings entered without the supervision of Technical Support. If you receive errors after entering an init string just go back into the FreePPP modem settings window and remove the init string and try to connect again. Restarting your computer after removing a bad init string is recommended. If you have any questions, just call tech support at 1-888-866-4638. Support is available 24-hours a day.
