Configuring TCP/IP For FreePPP 2.6.2

FreePPP is the program that the Mercury Network CD will install. Here is how to reconfigure the TCP/IP control Panel to use FreePPP.

1. Click on the Apple menu in the upper-left corner of the screen. Then choose Control Panels and select TCP/IP from the menu that slides out.

3. After the TCP/IP window opens up, click on the File menu at the top, then select Configurations.

4. If you have installed the Mercury Network CD, then you will see Mercury Network in the window. Click once to highlight it and then click the Make Active button in the lower-right corner of the window.

2. That will take you back to the TCP/IP main window. The following information should be entered or selected:

Connect via: FreePPP
Configure: Using PPP Server
IP Address, Subnet mask, and Router address: < will be supplied by server >

Name server addresses: 64.7.161.12 and 64.7.161.13
Domain: tm.net

6. After all necessary changes have been made, close out the TCP/IP window. If you get a window that says Save changes to current configuration, click Save.
