Windows 2000 Specific Settings Where To Put Init Strings 1. Open My Computer.
2. Open Control Panel.
3. Open Phone and Modem Options.
4. Click the Modems tab at the top.
5. Highlight your modem and click the Properties button in the lower right.
6. Click the Advanced tab at the top.
7. *Init strings for your modem may be entered under Extra initialization commands.
* The ISP will not be held responsible for any init strings entered without the supervision of Technical Support. If you receive errors after entering an init string, such as Port disconnected due to hardware failure, just go back into the modem control panel and remove the init string and try to connect again.
